I had a go at making the blog more visual today. Checked the Internet and found a really nifty theme (this is the wordpress word for a layout). Thank you Darren Hoyt!  It had just the one bug. Treated it by taking out the whole column under the header on the left. Note: This column is now blank – will have to fix that sometime.
