Got an e-mail from Eveline Wawou this week - she represents artists that make art objects…
Early ‘net art: Julia Scher
I’m doing a spot of research on artist that use the ‘net as a medium. Found a short audio piece that I like, it is titled welcome in wonderland an made by Julia Scher, a very early piece of net-art: in february 1995, the ‘net was just a baby.
I’m curious about artworks that explore the ‘electronic networks of surveillance’ (I blogged about this earlier). I have a next experiment in mind that will use the ‘net and the idea of electronic surveillance and connect this to being alone-together in public space. To be continued. First click on this link to hear Julia’s piece.
