Met with Joost Grootens at an unexpected moment – while visiting the van Abbe show I just blogged about. Joost, in his precise and also very visual way, added up the number of works in the van Abbe collection made by male artists, and the much smaller number of works by female artists. No comment needed on the respective numbers – it’s a man’s world, still. Joost made a typology for the types of works, also meticulously crafted.

I so much like his work – loved the workshop he did at MaHKU and the tasks he set us to do. Must find out if he has any vacancies ……
