So I am not the only one fascinated by circles. Farid screened three films yesterday…
Kinderdijk project
Went to Kinderdijk Project today for the screening of Farid’s film. He screened my world upside down, capturing the stillness, the water being everywhere and the quality of the light at Kinderdijk. I’m afraid it is hard to put into words the effect the film had on me but it dit have a quite powerful effect. I go sailing a lot on summer holidays, and sitting and watching the film gave me the same sense of quietly moving yet sitting still. I loved it!
Windmill in the still shown above is not actually drowning, it is the wake of a boat passing by that causes the effect. Stills are nice – maybe I’ll use them for the Souvenir Collective initiative – if Farid allows.
Need to talk about his other film as well, but am ready to call it a day – hectic week, but nice.
