Spent the better part of yesterday inviting people to the Tricking the Everyday show. First…
Evi Renieri’s Everyday
Have the intention to post about a couple of Tricking the Everyday artists. First to be discussed is Evi Renieri, who did a fabulous video. It shows snapshots from her everyday where housewife-ing and art-making go hand in hand. I like the whispers she added, posing questions like will a volunteer position help me to find a paid job? and why do I take upon myself all the maintenance work? Her video is intimate, and quite rightly she is showing it on a small screen with headphones – it needs to be approached and appreciated as a separate work. Evi’s also done the editing for the compiled video diary that is projected large size on two walls – there too she did a fabulous job. Video editing sucks – but Evi mastered it!
