My love for the Afsluitdijk has percolated to my friends somehow. For I got an invite to go to a theatre spectacle taking place at this famous dike, starring the engineer Leeghwater – the man who masterminded some spectacular poldering projects in the 1600’s.

Amusing theatre, with mr. Leeghwater in the role of Mephostopheles trying to buy the soul of the last fisherman standing in the way of a very engineering kind of progress. Some very good singing and a number of great aqua-effects thrown in: had a great time.

Must revisit my ideas about drawing on the Afsluitdijk. It is so very very linear out there….
