Dutch Mountains Artists Book
Have been working on an artists book featuring the ‘Dutch Mountains’ photo series. Lot of work! I am overlaying the photo’s with flooding information. Wanted to use transparent paper at first, with a black or blue water line – inspired by the famous before-and-after Red Books by Humphry Repton. That wasn’t it, for the transparent layer obscured the image a little too well. Then hit on the notion of using a fragile blue thread for water line, which does work. I now do a paper – photo – paper sandwich where the thread is embedded between two layers of paper and overlays the picture
It is quite irritating having to order all my supplies online, then having to wait, wait, wait. A thought – would it not be better to have the book design done by professionals?
