So I went to Venice, and was impressed. The idea of a city that is flooded regularly stayed with me – it translated into mental images of the Netherlands under regular flooding. What would we do? How could we live?

So I re-engineered the Netherlands, concentrating us on ten huge city-terps located where there are big cities now. And I let go of the land inbetween – moved everything on that land to the terps, to be populated with great density.

It took me a few tries (that I will not show here). The one below that I do show is the closest that I could come to what I had in mind.
