While visiting Scotland I had the opportunity to discuss my work with Irene McAra and Joe Lockwood, both…
Upscaled COb
And I was very happy with this! A 1.50 x 1.50 large image of our garden made with the scaled-up Camera Obscura. When I have placed in in Eemland, it will reduce the width of the Eemland polder to an 1.50 x 1.50 image.
Scaling up the CObs was quite an exciting exercise. First find the right lens – focal length 1.50 meter. Then begged a lot of cardboard off he local seller of fridges, washing machines and suchlike. With bated breath and a sharp knife I cut the cardboard to size and taped it to make front and back of the camera. The front has the lens, the back the screen on which the camera image is projected. A flexible intermediate piece connects these two. Opaque cloth keeps the light away from the screen, and voilá.
