A weekend filled with art - Zaltbommel Kunstrondje XL - and opportunities to visit houses…
Welcome
Had a field day in Utrecht today, visiting gardens open under the Open Garden Scheme. Saw nooks and crannies I’d never even suspected – from rooftop gardens wholly consisting of container plants to large and manicured landscape gardens right between busy shopping streets. Lovely to be with the big girl (it was her idea) and meet with so many garden enthousiasts.
Learned that the average Utrecht ground level has upped 4 meters since Roman times. Debris, household waste, slops – but 4 meters in 2000 years sounds such a lot! It is 0.2 cm per year so 16 cm in a lifetime. I’m not quite trusting this statistic. Anyway, some nice garden pics and flower market pics for my ‘garden‘ collection I’ve started on Pinterest
