A weekend filled with art - Zaltbommel Kunstrondje XL - and opportunities to visit houses…
Overhanging the garden wall
I’m so enjoying the roses everywhere – June was never my favourite month, but it’s definitely moving up the scale now. A lot of people in my part of town had the happy inspiration to train roses up the facade of their houses. So the street I live in looks lovely in June, and smells even lovelier.
I do think that people that plant roses in the public domain – and maintain them – should get tax reductions for it. Taxes used to be levied based on the number of windows a house had, so surely a tax reduction based on roses would be doable?
The rose in this picture was planted by Karen, a next door neighbour who would benefit greatly from my new tax law. For she has no fewer than 5 roses against the outer wall of her house and garden, and 2 or 3 overhanging the garden wall.
