Audley End House
Audley End House and Garden – I visited in 2013 and the images are still very vivid in my mind. So it came up immediately when I was going down memory lane.
It was once one of the largest and most opulent houses in Jacobean England, and is now in the hands of English Heritage. Gardens designed by Capability Brown, who swept away everything Jacobean and introduced extensive lawns right up to the front and kitchen doors. Later, the parterre was restored, also the kitchen gardens.
