As part of my preparation for Tricking the Everyday I managed to get part of my video diary online. The pic above is a still from one of the items. Diary making is addicting, and I have lots of one- and two-minute video’s.

My selection process was brutal but very simple: selected  video’s should have little visual noise and should contain an idea or reference that I want to preserve. Looking through the footage a couple of times, I noticed a very strange interaction between the real memory in my head and the preserved and presentable memory on video. The real memory tends to fade away, being replaced by the video. External memory taking over! Now that is a compelling idea …..
